How The Food Depot Is Helping Address
Food Insecurity in New Mexico
Nearly 1 in 5 children in northern New Mexico experiences food insecurity. While they may have access to food, they are likely not consuming food that is optimal for their health and development. Enter the Food Depot, an organization that finds unique and creative ways to increase families' access to nutritious food through innovative programs like the soon-to-launch Food Mobile 2.0, which takes 900 square feet of food shopping space on the road to meet families where they are. The Food Depot relies on more than 900 volunteers to achieve its mission, along with the financial support of organizations like the Enterprise Bank & Trust Foundation.
